Our History
First Church of God began in a tent revival meeting held in the summer of 1929. The First Church building was built in1931 at the corner of High and Church Streets in Eaton. In 1962, the church relocated to its current location at Harris and Union Streets. First Church is affiliated with the Church of God, with general offices in Anderson, IN. The Church of God has 2,307 congregations in 49 states and the District of Columbia, as well as 52 congregations in Canada. These churches minister to over 218,000 people. In more than 80 other countries there are over 4,432 congregations working with more than 392,000 fellow believers.

Michael Flanagin & Family
Worship Minister
| Michael is an Assistant Professor of Music at Indiana Wesleyan University and also serves part-time as Minister of Music at First Church. Michael is married to his high-school sweetheart Sarah from Rolla, Missouri. They currently live in Marion with their two sons, Nash and Mark. Michael has directed music at various churches in Indiana, Illinois and Missouri. You may contact our Worship Minister at
